On 21st August 2016, the 35th swordsmanship founder festival for Aisu clan (愛洲氏) was held at the ruin of Gokasho castle (五ヶ所城址) in Minami-Ise-cho, Mie prefecture, Japan.
This martial arts demonstration “Aisu-Kensho-sai, Kenso-sai” (愛洲氏顕彰祭・剣祖祭) was demonstrated for dedication of the founder of “Kage-ryu” (影流), Master “Aisu-Ikousai “(愛洲移香斎) . Kage-ryu is known as the origin of many Japanese traditional swordsmanship styles, including “Shin-Kage-ryu” (新陰流), “Yagyu-Shin-Kage-ryu” (柳生新陰流), “Hyoho Taisha ryu” (兵法タイ捨流) and others.
As there are very limited relevant references of this style, the background of the founder and his techniques are shadowy. However, the founder and Kage-ryu are known as one of the ancient Japanese styles which had major influence on many Japanese traditional swordsmanship.
