On 16th April (Sunday) 2017, 5 traditional martial arts ryuha held a join training session at Kagami Dojo, Yatshiro, Kumamoto, Japan. It was the first joint training after the major Kumamoto earthquake.
The official name of the event was Kumamoto Kobudo Gobugyo koryu keiko kai (熊本古武道五奉行会交流稽古) which implies the 5 ryuha joined the session, as well as 5 key political figures of the Japanese government at the end of Sengoku Jidai - Warring States period, as some of them, in particular Mitsunari Ishida (石田三成) made contributions to the local area.
The event also provided an opportunity for young Monjin members of Hyoho Taisha ryu Dojo Yatsushiro Ryu-sen-kan (兵法タイ捨流道場八代龍泉館), to demonstrate their skills in front of masters of other styles, which is considered as a way of very effective training in Japanese traditional martial arts world.
